Description:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, usability, performance, and stability of our web and mobile applications throughout the software development lifecycle. This role requires strong knowledge of manual testing, automation testing, API testing, database validation, defect management, and Agile software development practices.
The QA Engineer will work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, UI/UX designers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and convert them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases. The candidate should be capable of identifying functional gaps, edge cases, integration issues, usability problems, and potential regression impacts before features are released to production.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and design documents to identify appropriate testing coverage.
Prepare detailed test scenarios, test cases, test data, checklists, and regression test suites for new and existing functionality.
Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, compatibility, usability, and end-to-end testing.
Test web applications across multiple browsers, screen resolutions, and supported operating systems.
Perform testing of mobile applications across supported Android and iOS devices where applicable.
Validate REST APIs using tools such as Postman and ensure that request parameters, authentication, status codes, response structures, error handling, and business rules function correctly.
Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify data integrity, data persistence, relationships, and backend processing.
Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver or Playwright.
Build maintainable automation frameworks using Java or another supported programming language.
Identify suitable regression scenarios for automation and continuously improve automation coverage.
Log defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, severity, priority, screenshots, videos, logs, and other supporting evidence.
Retest resolved defects and perform dependent-scenario and regression testing to ensure that fixes do not introduce issues in related functionality.
Participate in sprint planning, requirement discussions, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, defect triage meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce, investigate, and resolve software defects.
Validate email notifications, scheduled processes, background jobs, file uploads/downloads, reports, exports, and third-party integrations.
Perform pre-production smoke testing and release validation before production deployment.
Verify production releases and report critical issues immediately to the appropriate stakeholders.
Maintain QA documentation, test execution reports, defect reports, release checklists, and testing evidence.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve QA processes, test coverage, automation, and overall product quality.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline is preferred. Candidates should have approximately 4–7 years of software testing experience, including hands-on experience with functional testing and test automation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, performance testing tools, accessibility testing, security testing concepts, Docker, GitHub Actions, Jenkins pipelines, and AI-assisted testing tools will be considered an advantage. Experience testing HRMS, recruitment platforms, SaaS products, enterprise applications, or workflow-based systems would also be beneficial.
What We Expect
We are looking for someone who approaches testing from an end-user and business perspective rather than simply validating happy-path scenarios. The candidate should be able to understand dependencies between modules, identify boundary and negative scenarios, investigate unexpected behaviour, communicate defects clearly, and take ownership of product quality throughout the development and release lifecycle.
The individual should possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional Agile team.
